TAMARA DILEO

ABOUT TAMARA DILEO

How long have you been part of the Mad Men Marketing team?

I started in November of 2017. The funny thing is that I applied as a graphic designer but ended up working in video, which is something I always wanted to do but never thought I would have the opportunity for, so I’m really grateful to be here in that regard.

What do you enjoy most about working at Mad Men Marketing?

It’s the people, for sure. We have a stellar group of individuals here who each bring something to the table both professionally and personally, and the friendships we share really bolster our teamwork. It’s the kind of work setting that most people never get to experience and I sincerely value being able to look forward to coming to the office every day and seeing everyone.

Where do you find inspiration for videos and creativity?

I find videos that have really great pacing to be the most provocative. Like music videos in particular can do a really awesome job in matching visuals with the pacing of the music, like matching the cuts or transitions to the beat and rhythm in ways that make it an immersive experience. I always get excited when I can get footage to match the pace of a song in interesting ways. And since I have a background in graphic design, I also love it when the use of graphics and typography can be integrated successfully.

Which project was most satisfying for you to work on?

One of the earliest projects I worked on was a documentary, which was a massive undertaking. It took a long time to produce, but by the end of it all I was really proud of it and the client was happy as well. Looking back, there are things I wish I could have done differently, but I think that’s true for most creative projects when all is said and done.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I spend most of my time at home usually either playing video games or indulging in the abundance of shows available on various streaming services. Outside of that, I have a tight group of friends that are like family and we get together a lot, sometimes for Dungeons and Dragons when we can get a full party. I also love going to comic or anime conventions when I get the chance. Something I can always do more of is enjoying the outdoors, like kayaking and whatnot. As an Oregon native, I’m always in my element in a natural environment.

Tell us about Toro and Unagi.

Well, those are the Japanese names for tuna and eel sushi, and also the names of my cats. I’m mildly obsessed with them. They’re both black and white and super adorable. They tend to dominate my Instagram stories, which some people tease me about… but let’s be real, they’re way more entertaining than I could ever be. Unagi has also stolen the heart of my husband who has been a lifelong dog-person, so that just goes to show how loveable they are.
